Alliance & Leicester Shares - Takeover
Banco Santander have offered 299p per share for Alliance & Leicester. Some analysts suggest this is a knock down price and that other potential buyers may soon appear, who may offer a higher price. On announcement of the offer shares jumped by 50%, trading some 35p above the offer price.
