Get an Accurate Comparison
The more groundwork you do, the more accurate the results will be. So look out your old bills to find out your normal annual spend on each product. Also for gas and electricity find out how many units you used in the last year. Make sure the figures you use cover a whole year - remember your autumn bills will be lower than spring bills as the autumn will cover the summer period when you've been using less fuel. Make though that sure that the beginning or end of the period is not covered by an estimated bill.
Switch Utilities
No one should be complacent that they have the best deal for their gas, phone electric and other utilities. Suppliers are always changing their tarrifs, so it's definitely worth reviewing your energy suppliers. The company that offered the best deal a year ago may not provide the best deal now. A number of businesses such as u-switch will compare suppliers for you to choose the best deal. Many of these make commission from the suppliers.
